We have all seen Leela's photography via this blog for quiet a few posts. Hence, I thought it was time to introduce her to my dear readers. We welcome Leela to join the quest of "4m my Eyes" and I am honored to interview her as well as have her helping hand for a number of occasions.
Debby Sharma: Could you please tell about yourself? What do you like to do in SL?
Leela Qissinger: From the moment I joined SL I always felt to be creative in a way. Decorating has always been my hobby (obviously sharing space with dressing up) and I enjoyed taking things apart and redo it into my style. But as the fashion in SL attracted me a lot (cos you can enjoy your decoration a while longer), I joined the Miss Virtual World Academy, did some modelling and from there started a fashion blog. This I enjoyed a lot and it took my creativity further into learning to edit my pictures. I guess I have always been drawn to this virtual world by its colors and endless possibilities. Taking pictures and editing them just adds to it.
Debby Sharma: Something about your best friends and family in SL?
Leela Qissinger: Of course Second Life wouldn't keep me coming back if I didn't find sweet friends around the grid. I have a lovely sister, whom I have known for about 4 years. Actually my profile is full of special people I have bonded with over the years, but there are so many lovely friends, even not named, who have guided, supported and made me laugh so much!
Like in RL I can be your best friend but need my space at times. This just fits my -old habit- introvert side. But then again friendships last only when you know and are able to understand each other. Just being there unconditionally, this counts for me and I usually have friends who value the same.
Debby Sharma: Your most memorable moment is SL? How has the journey been since 2009?
Leela Qissinger: My -most- memorable moment in SL! Any moment hanging with friends, feeling relaxed and enjoy some jokes, are memorable. But I have had a few experiences which were unforgettable for sure. But one I'd like to share is when I got invited to take part in 'Show me yours' (SMY) the best in blogs 2011 exhibit. This really surprised me and it was such an honor to be selected.
My whole journey in here has just been exciting, but I was thrown in at the deep end. Sometimes it takes a good fall to really know where you stand. Like every experience in RL even from SL you can learn and grow. A girl who wasn't able to communicate well in chat, I'd say that at the end I have sharpened my social skills - the ones who don't agree may have a good laugh now! I have met interesting people online, found true friends who I love to bits.
But then the journey ends. And I have never regretted to do so. Now I get online for a little while or more, but get to do the things I feel like doing. RL keeps me occupied enough for now but never know when things turn around and SL will bewitching again into a virtual fantasy..
