New angle to look at~ Maternity Clinics

I keep topics in my list. This has been a pending one since I took a break and tried my hand on photography. Continuing from where I had left, last I discussed about choosing a baby. There are pregnancy hud for mothers and fathers. Is that all? No, there is much more. Much much more. I went on hunting for good maternity clinics. My search was an elaborate one thorough blogs, market place and the second life it self.  To cover the topic of maternity clinics, I decided to take it a step further. Rather than just talking about the maternity clinics. In this blog I will also talk about how the clinics are built and what kind of role play is needed.

The broad three topics that I would be dealing with are:

  1. Mothers looking for maternity clinics
  2. Maternity Clinics as a Business
  3. Role of Employees
In this blog I will cover the three topics in depth:

1. Mothers looking for maternity clinics

The clinic is open from 9 am to 3 pm on working days and from 10 am to 3pm on Saturdays. Other times they are available on call.

  • Lyuboff Russian Maternity Clinic

While I was visiting this one, I met a mother and her beautiful baby. Honestly, I have never seen a baby in Second Life. I have seen pictures. I have seen the zoobys at zoobyville. I have never seen one crawling and playing. I take the liberty of sharing her pictures. I just could not resist to take her pictures. (whispers to my hubby...can't wait for our baby)

2. Maternity Clinics as a Business

While trying to understand the role of Maternity Clinics, I found a blog by Sarah Stewart, telling the though process and the plans developed to set up such units in Second Life. Reading her blog made me realize, that Second Life is also used as a platform for learning. Read the blog for more details.

All about Maternity.

With a developed concept, if someone wants to set up a non-profit maternity clinic or profit making business. What are the equipment to look for and where to look for them? These are the few creators of medical equipment which link to the market place.

The structure of maternity clinics can be found in market place too. The price ranges from 79 L$ to about 4000 L$. It depends on how many prims and what land size are you looking for.
Responsibilities does not end here. Doctors and nurses outfit can be found at Marvela McBride and is also provided by LSR. Few doctors and nurses like to have a hud for a more realistic experience. It is provided by:

3. Role of Employees

Like a building does not make a place home unless there are people living in it. In the same way, the soul of a maternity clinic will be with its staff. Hence, the clinics look for people who have a background as midwifes, nurses and doctors for better role play. Why would people having the background roleplay? Its simple, because they understand that it is a learning experience for the both the couple and the people associated with them

Learning is never ends. I believe we learn each and every day. This blog helped me to understand that Second Life is just not a game or a social platform where people meet, sing or dance. It is much more and there is a lot to explore.

  1. I am a mother in SL myself, and I love it. I chose the LYUBOFF Baby, however, the only down side is they HUD's they have are only in English and the doctors office prefers you to be Russian to use it. Other wise you have to contact support for doctor visit. You are also NOT allowed to say the word zooby in any form while on the sims or it will result in being band and eject on the spot , wither you are saying Lyuboff is Better then Zooby..It doesn't matter. You will be band and the band will not be lifted. From a Mother who uses Lyuboff , I recommend them despite the small issues. They are more cost efficient then most.

    1. Oh, I did not know that. I had written the article when I was going to be a to-be mother. However, we chose to adopt a baby, to have a more real experience. Thank you Jade for the information.
